Mobile lift tables are scissor lift tables on casters. You roll the load to the job, lock the wheels, and raise it to working height with a foot pump or a battery-powered lift. They are also sold as hydraulic lift carts, scissor lift carts and lift table carts. Same machine, different name.
B&C Industrial Products quotes mobile lift tables from Bishamon, Southworth, Presto Lifts, Vestil, Autoquip, Hamaco and Lift Products. Most are rated between 300 and 2,000 lb. Heavy-duty battery models go to 6,000 lb. Each product below is a full series: open it to see every model with its capacity, platform size and lowered and raised heights.
Types of Mobile Lift Tables
Manual foot pump lift carts
A foot pedal drives a hydraulic pump, and a release lever lowers the platform at a controlled speed. No battery and no cord, so the cart is always ready. This is the right choice for occasional lifts, die and fixture changes, and loads under about 1,000 lb. Above that, ask how many pump strokes a full lift takes before you buy. On a heavy load it adds up.
Battery powered lift tables
A 12V or 24V battery runs the hydraulic pump from a push button, usually on the handle or a pendant. An onboard charger plugs into a standard 115V outlet. Choose battery power when the table cycles many times a shift or the load is heavy enough that pumping slows the job down.
Double scissor high lift carts
Two stacked scissor mechanisms reach raised heights of about 50 to 68 inches from a cart that still lowers to a comfortable loading height. Use them to feed upper rack levels, high machine beds and mezzanine edges. Capacities are lower than a single scissor of the same size.
Stainless steel, tilting and special tops
Stainless steel carts suit food, pharmaceutical and washdown areas. Lift and tilt carts tip a container toward the operator so parts are reached without bending. Roller conveyor tops, air-over-hydraulic power and built-in scales are available on specific series.
How to Choose a Mobile Lift Table
Capacity
Add the heaviest load to the weight of the tote, die or fixture it rides in, then choose a rating at or above that total. Ratings assume the load is centered on the platform. A load slid on from one side, or one that sits at one end, needs a higher rating.
Platform size
The platform should be at least as large as the footprint of the load. Check the overall width of the cart against your narrowest aisle and doorway, because the handle and casters add to the platform size.
Lowered and raised height
Lowered height is where you load the cart. Raised height is where you work or transfer. Measure both points in your process, such as the machine bed, the bench or the rack beam, and choose a series that covers them with a few inches to spare.
Power
Foot pump for occasional lifts. Battery for frequent lifts or heavy loads. Air-over-hydraulic where shop air is at the station and batteries are not wanted.
Casters and floor
Most mobile lift tables have two swivel casters with brakes and two rigid casters. They are built for smooth, level concrete. For rough floors, thresholds or outdoor use, ask about larger wheels or pneumatic tires before you order.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a mobile lift table?
A mobile lift table is a scissor lift table mounted on casters with a push handle. It moves a load between stations and raises it to a comfortable working height, so nobody lifts or bends to floor level. It is also called a hydraulic lift cart, scissor lift cart or lift table cart.
How much weight can a mobile lift table hold?
Most mobile lift tables are rated between 300 and 2,000 lb. Heavy-duty battery-powered models are rated up to 6,000 lb. The rating is for a load centered on the platform, and it includes any container or fixture under the load.
Should I choose a manual or a battery powered lift table?
Choose a manual foot pump table when lifts are occasional and loads are under about 1,000 lb. Choose battery power when the table is raised and lowered many times a shift, when the load is heavy, or when the operator needs both hands on the work.
How high does a mobile lift table raise?
Single scissor carts typically raise to somewhere between 28 and 45 inches. Double scissor carts reach about 50 to 68 inches. The lowered and raised height of every model is listed in the model table on each series page.
Can a mobile lift table be moved while it is raised?
Move the cart with the platform lowered. Raise it only after the cart is in position on a level floor with the caster brakes or floor lock set. Traveling with a raised load moves the center of gravity up and can tip the cart.
