B&C Industrial Products quotes, delivers and supports Southworth lift equipment nationwide.
Southworth Products: Lift Tables, PalletPal Positioners, Tilters & Dock Lifts
Southworth hydraulic scissor lift tables, PalletPal pallet positioners and level loaders, container tilters and upenders, low-profile and pneumatic lift tables, industrial turntables, Dandy Lift carts and loading dock lifts. Ergonomic material handling equipment from Portland, Maine, quoted, delivered and supported by our team.
Who Southworth Is, and Why We Carry Them
Southworth Products Corp. is based in Portland, Maine. The business goes back to 1890, when brothers Edward and Constant Southworth started building graphic arts machinery there. Southworth introduced its first line of cam-style lift tables in 1957 and added coil and roll handling machinery in 1960. Today Southworth describes itself as a leading manufacturer of ergonomic material handling equipment, built to raise productivity and cut the risk of worker injuries.
Southworth is part of Southworth International Group, Inc. (SIGI), which Southworth calls a family-owned company. Presto Lifts is a SIGI sister brand. Southworth runs four factories worldwide, including a plant in Manila, Arkansas that has operated since the 1970s. The company says it sells more than 20,000 lift tables a year and that about 80% of what it builds is customized.
That range is why we carry them. Southworth covers everything from a foot-pump Dandy Lift cart to a 25,000 lb heavy-duty lift table, with self-leveling PalletPal positioners, container tilters and dock lifts in between. Our job is the application work: picking the right series for your load, height and duty cycle, quoting it with freight or local delivery included, and supporting it after it arrives.
What Actually Sets Southworth Apart
Plenty of companies build lift tables. These four points come from Southworth’s own product pages, manuals and quick-ship program, and they are the ones that matter when you are choosing between brands.
PalletPal levelers that need no power
The spring PalletPal 360 rises and sinks on its own as layers come on or off, with no power or air supply. It handles 400 to 4,500 lbs (the spring set is chosen for your load), turns a full 360° on a turntable ring and has a built-in dampener. Southworth’s manual gives a 9-1/2 in. compressed height and a 27-3/4 in. extended height. Air and stainless versions cover the same capacity range.
Decades of lift tables, at volume
Southworth introduced its first cam-style lift table line in 1957. The company says it now sells more than 20,000 lift tables a year and that about 80% of its builds are customized. It builds in four factories worldwide, including Manila, Arkansas.
An LS Series you can build to fit
Southworth’s LS Series manual says the line has “over 400,000 combinations” of capacity, travel, table size, power source and other features. Published options include a super-cycle package, a velocity fuse, upper and lower limit switches, 12V and 24V DC power units, washdown motor packages, pit mounting, and conveyor, ball transfer and turntable tops.
Swift Lift one-week shipping
On its most-requested models, including LS Series lift tables, floor-height lift tables, Dandy Lifts and Dandy Levelers, PalletPal 360 and Powered PalletPal, portable container tilters and turntables, Southworth states it is “committed to shipment within one week of receipt of your order.” The program is limited to 3 units per order and Southworth notes other restrictions may apply. Ask us whether your model qualifies.

Southworth Scissor Lift Tables
A Southworth hydraulic scissor lift table holds work, pallets or parts at the height the operator needs, so nobody bends to the floor or reaches overhead. The range runs from the compact Backsaver Lite up to cam-style tables rated to 30,000 lbs. The first seven series below are on bandcip.com today.

Backsaver Hydraulic
2,000 – 6,000 lbs
Lifts up to 56 in., platforms to 72 × 96 in.

Backsaver Lite — LL Series
550 / 1,100 / 1,500 lbs
Up to 41-1/4 in., 115V plug-in

LS Series — Hydraulic
2,000 – 12,000 lbs
Platforms to 60 × 156 in., 400,000+ configurations

LSD Series — Dual
4,000 – 12,000 lbs
Up to 70 in., widths to 132 in.

LST Series — Tandem
4,000 – 12,000 lbs
Up to 70 in., lengths to 172 in.

DL Series — Heavy Duty
Up to 25,000 lbs
Raises to 100 in., lowers to 13.25 in.

SSLS — Stainless Steel
2,000 or 4,400 lbs
Platforms to 48 × 72 in., washdown ready
LSH Spacesaver — High Rise
1,000 – 12,000 lbs
Lifting height up to 168 in.
L Series — Cam Lift
8,000 – 30,000 lbs
Up to 47 in., platforms to 72 × 96 in.
The LSD puts two scissor sets side by side for wide loads; the LST puts them end to end for long loads like tube, bar and panel stock. If your load overhangs a standard table, one of those two is usually the answer.
Southworth PalletPal Pallet Positioners & Level Loaders
The PalletPal is the product most people know Southworth for. A pallet positioner keeps the top of the load at waist height while layers are added or removed, so the operator never bends to the bottom layer. Spring and air models do it on their own; powered models are set by the operator with foot controls.

PalletPal 360 — Spring
400 – 4,500 lbs
No power or air, 360° turntable ring

PalletPal 360 Air
400 – 4,500 lbs
Airbag self-leveling, 360° turntable

Stainless Steel PalletPal
400 – 4,500 lbs
Spring self-leveling, no power

Powered PalletPal
Operator foot controls
115V hydraulic or shop air, 360° turntable

PalletPal Roll-On Level Loader
2,500 or 4,000 lbs
Pan lowers to floor for a hand pallet truck

PalletPal Roll-On with Turntable
Roll-on leveler with turntable
Ask us for current capacity

PalletPal Roll-In
Up to 2,200 lbs
Lowers to 3.25 in., open-bottom pallets
PalletPal Pallet Inverter
Up to 4,400 lbs
Rotates loads 180°, to 48 × 48 × 84 in.
Southworth Container Tilters, Lift & Tilt Tables & Upenders
A container tilter angles a gaylord, wire basket or tote toward the worker so they can reach the bottom without climbing in or folding over the edge. A lift and tilt table raises and angles the load on separate controls. An upender turns a sheet, roll or large part up to 90° to change which face is up.

PTU / SPTU — Portable Container Tilter
2,000 – 4,000 lbs
Up to 85°, on casters, 12V DC

Roll-On Container Tilter
2,000 or 4,000 lbs
Up to 85°, fork channels

ZTU — Pan-Style Container Tilter
2,000 or 4,000 lbs
Up to 85°, 50 × 50 in. pan

GLT / GLTA — Lift + Tilt Table
1,000 – 4,000 lbs
Independent lift and tilt, hydraulic or air

Low-Profile Lift + Tilt Table
2,000 or 4,000 lbs
Up to 30° tilt, 33.5 in. high

Upenders
2,000 / 4,000 / 6,000 lbs
30°, 45° or 90°, 48 × 84 in. platform
Parcel Unloader
Tilts up to 135°
54 × 60 in. platform, PLC controls
Southworth Low-Profile, Floor-Height & Pneumatic Lift Tables
A Southworth low profile lift table starts close to the floor, and floor-height models like the ZLS lower all the way so a hand pallet truck can roll the load straight on. The station needs no forklift. Pneumatic models run on shop air instead of hydraulic fluid.

ZLS — Floor-Height Lift Table
2,000 / 4,000 / 6,000 lbs
Pan platform lowers to the floor

LiftMat — Low Profile
Up to 2,200 lbs
Lowers to 3.25 in., raises to 34.75 in.

GLSA — Pneumatic
2,000 or 4,000 lbs
Raises to 32 in., airbag at 80 psi
Flush-Mount Turntable Lifts
20 or 43 in. turntable
Sits 3/16 in. above the platform
Southworth Industrial Turntables
A pallet turntable spins the load so the operator can reach every side from one spot instead of walking around it or reaching across it. It cuts the twisting at wrapping, palletizing and assembly stations.

Manual Turntables
Up to 6,000 lbs
Platforms to 48 × 56 in., 1/2 in. steel plate

Powered Turntables
Up to 6,000 lbs
Up to 60 × 60 in., 1.5 – 2.0 rpm

PalletPal Disc
Up to 4,000 lbs
7/8 in. collapsed height, rotation lock

PalletPal Turntable Ring
Up to 4,400 lbs
2-1/8 in. high, 43-5/8 in. diameter
Southworth Dandy Lifts & Portable Lift Tables
Portable lift carts bring a lift table to the job instead of the job to the lift. They roll between stations, raise parts, tools and cases to working height, and need no installation.

Backsaver Lite Portable
550 or 1,100 lbs
Internal DC power, built-in charger
Southworth Loading Dock Lifts
A Southworth dock lift takes the load from ground level up to truck bed height at a building with no loading dock, or at a dock that does not match the trucks you get. The M-Series is built for carts and pallet jacks; the H-Series is rated for powered forklifts. We do not list these on the site, so call or send the form for a quote.
M-Series Loading Dock Lifts
5,000 / 6,000 / 8,000 lbs
59 in. travel, 6 × 8 to 8 × 10 ft
H-Series Heavy-Duty Dock Lifts
Up to 20,000 lbs
Up to 81 in., rated for forklifts
Air Cargo Lifts
15,000 lbs standard
Raised height to 68 in., caster deck
Southworth also builds personnel lifts, coil cars, drive stackers, PalletPal lift trucks and order pickers, and the Workbench Lift. Southworth makes far more than we can show here; if you don’t see it, ask us for a quote.
PalletPal vs. Powered Level Loader vs. Scissor Lift Table: Which One Do You Need?
All three hold a pallet at a comfortable height, and buyers mix them up all the time. The difference is how the height changes, what power the station has, and how the load gets on.
| Spring PalletPal 360 | Powered PalletPal / Roll-On | Scissor Lift Table (LS / Backsaver) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| How height changes | Springs raise and lower it on their own as weight changes | The operator sets it with foot controls or a pushbutton; the Roll-On offers optional auto-leveling | The operator raises and lowers it (hydraulic) |
| Power | None. No power or air | 115V hydraulic or shop air (80 psi / 15 cfm) | 115V single-phase standard; DC options |
| Capacity | 400 – 4,500 lbs, spring set chosen for the load | Roll-On: 2,500 or 4,000 lbs | Backsaver 2,000 – 6,000 lbs; LS 2,000 – 12,000 lbs |
| Rotation | 360° turntable ring | 360° turntable on the Powered PalletPal | Optional turntable top |
| Loading | Forklift | Forklift; the Roll-On pan lowers to the floor for a hand pallet truck | Forklift, cart or conveyor |
| Pick it when | You build or break down fairly uniform pallets layer by layer | Layer weights vary, or the station has no forklift | The load or work has to sit at a fixed height, or it is heavier or larger |
Not sure which fits your station? Tell us what is on the pallet, how it gets there and whether you have power or air at that spot. That is usually enough for us to point you to one of the three.
Warranty Terms
Southworth warranty terms vary by product, and Southworth notes that certain models carry special or extended warranties quoted in writing at the time of sale. Rather than publish a number that may not match your model, B&C confirms the current written warranty terms from Southworth with every quote.
Southworth’s terms exclude misuse, overloading and unauthorized alterations, so tell us your real load and duty cycle up front. Southworth’s warranties are written around single-shift use on many models; if you run two or three shifts, say so and we will confirm how that affects coverage. For warranty work, call us first and we will open the claim with Southworth.
Where Southworth Equipment Goes to Work
Southworth equipment shows up anywhere a person would otherwise bend, reach or twist to handle a load: on the line, at the pallet, and at the dock.
What We Need From You to Quote a Southworth Unit
Two stations can need the same capacity and end up with different Southworth machines because of how the load arrives or what power is at the spot. Here is the short list that lets us quote the right one the first time.
| What we ask | Why it changes the machine |
|---|---|
| Load weight and size | Length, width and height, and whether the load sits off center. Wide or long loads point to the LSD or LST |
| Lowered and raised height | Decides low-profile or floor-height versus a standard scissor, and how much travel you need |
| How the load gets on | Forklift, hand pallet truck, cart or crane. Pan-style and floor-height units are built for pallet jacks |
| Pallet or container type | Open- or closed-bottom pallet, gaylord, wire basket or tote. Some models take open-bottom pallets only |
| Tilt or rotation | Degrees of tilt needed, or 360° rotation |
| Power at the station | 115V single-phase, three-phase, DC battery, or shop air (PSI and CFM) |
| Duty cycle | Lifts per shift and shifts per day. Decides whether you need the super-cycle package |
| Environment and mounting | Washdown, food or pharma, outdoor; floor, pit or portable |
Do not have all of it? Send what you have. A photo of the station and a description of what you are moving is a fine start, and we will ask for the rest. Add your delivery ZIP code so the quote includes LTL freight or local delivery.
Common Questions
Does B&C Industrial sell Southworth products?
Yes. B&C Industrial Products quotes, sells, delivers and supports Southworth lift tables, PalletPal positioners, tilters, turntables, Dandy Lifts and dock lifts nationwide. Southworth equipment is quote-only on our site, and every quote includes LTL freight or local delivery. Call (888) 276-3386 or email rfq@bandcip.com.
Who makes Southworth products, and where are they made?
Southworth Products Corp. of Portland, Maine, part of Southworth International Group, Inc. (SIGI). Southworth runs four factories worldwide, including a plant in Manila, Arkansas that has operated since the 1970s. If your project requires a specific country of origin, tell us up front and we will confirm it with Southworth before you order.
What is a Southworth PalletPal?
PalletPal is Southworth’s family of pallet positioners and level loaders. The spring PalletPal 360 raises the load as boxes come off and lowers it as they go on, with no power or air, so the top layer stays at waist height. It handles 400 to 4,500 lbs and sits on a 360° turntable ring. There are also air, stainless steel, powered, Roll-On and Roll-In versions.
Should I get the spring PalletPal 360 or the PalletPal 360 Air?
Both cover 400 to 4,500 lbs and both turn 360°. The spring version needs no power or air at all, and the spring set is chosen for your load. The Air version uses an airbag to self-level, and Southworth notes its spring holds the turntable if air is lost. If your load weights change a lot from job to job, tell us; that often decides it.
What capacity Southworth scissor lift table do I need?
Start with your heaviest load, then look at how it gets on the table and how high it has to go. Southworth lift tables run from 550 lbs on the Backsaver Lite up to 25,000 lbs on the DL Series heavy-duty hydraulic lift table and 30,000 lbs on the L Series cam lift. Capacity is rarely the hard part. Platform size, lowered height and travel usually are.
Can B&C get parts or a manual for my Southworth lift table?
Yes. Send us the model and serial number from the data plate and a photo of the part if you can, and we will source Southworth lift table parts for you. Southworth posts owner’s manuals for many of its series on its own website, and we can help you find the right one. Southworth also offers factory-trained field service, factory rebuilds and on-site operator training.
Does Southworth make loading dock lifts?
Yes. The Southworth M-Series loading dock lifts carry 5,000, 6,000 or 8,000 lbs with 59 in. of vertical travel, and are built for non-powered carts and pallet jacks. The H-Series heavy-duty dock lifts carry up to 20,000 lbs with up to 81 in. of travel and are rated for powered forklifts. We do not list these on the site, so call or send the form for a quote.
What is the difference between a container tilter, a lift and tilt table and an upender?
A container tilter angles a gaylord, basket or tote up to 85° so the worker can reach the bottom. A lift and tilt table raises the load and tilts it on separate controls, for work that needs both a height and an angle. An upender rotates a load up to 90° to change which face is up, such as standing a sheet or roll on end. If you are reaching into a container, you want a tilter.
Which Southworth lift tables can I load with a pallet jack?
The ZLS floor-height lift table, the PalletPal Roll-On level loader and the ZTU pan-style container tilter all lower so a hand pallet truck can roll the load straight on. The LiftMat and the PalletPal Roll-In also sit very low, lowering to 3.25 in. (the Roll-In takes open-bottom pallets only); ask us whether your pallet and truck will work with them. These are the right choice when the station has no forklift.
How fast can I get a Southworth lift table?
Under its Swift Lift program, Southworth states it is committed to shipping within one week of receiving the order on its most-requested models, including LS Series lift tables, floor-height lift tables, Dandy Lifts, PalletPal 360 and Powered PalletPal, portable container tilters and turntables. The limit is 3 units per order, and Southworth notes other restrictions may apply. Ask us whether your configuration qualifies.
What is the warranty on Southworth equipment?
It depends on the product. Southworth’s terms vary by model, and some models carry special or extended warranties that Southworth quotes in writing at the time of sale. We confirm the current written terms with every quote, so you know exactly what is covered before you order.
Is Southworth related to Presto Lifts?
Yes. Southworth and Presto Lifts are sister brands under Southworth International Group, Inc. (SIGI). We carry both. If a Presto model fits your job better, we will tell you; see our Presto Lifts page.
