Roll Out Racks: Drawer Storage for Sheet, Bar and Pallet

Roll-out pallet shelves, sheet racks, sheet towers, vertical sheet racks, roll-out cantilever and honeycomb bar storage. Every level pulls out to you, so nobody reaches into a rack, climbs a frame, or digs through a pile to find a piece of material. Built in Quebec, quoted and supported by our team.

Who Roll Out Racks Is, and Why We Carry Them

The roll-out cantilever rack that started this line was built by Hardy Equipment in Portneuf, Quebec for more than twenty-five years, alongside a snow-plowing equipment division. In 2015 the two divisions were separated and sold, and the rack side became Roll Out Racks. The new owners kept the product that had earned its reputation and rebuilt everything around it, adding sheet, pallet and bar storage to what had been a single cantilever line.

What came out of that is a company that does one thing. They do not make conveyor, they do not make shelving, they do not make lift equipment. They manufacture drawer-based industrial storage, and the whole catalogue is built on one idea: material sitting on a shelf has to be reached, and material sitting on a drawer comes to you. Apply that to a pallet bay, a sheet rack, a cantilever level or a bar rack and you get faster picking, denser storage and a lot less climbing.

They sell through a rep and distributor network rather than direct, which is where B&C comes in. We handle the application work: sizing the rack to your material, your weights, your ceiling and your aisle, then quoting it, getting it to your floor and supporting it after the install. Nothing on this page is a catalogue number you can add to a cart. Tell us what you are storing and we will spec it.

What Actually Sets Roll Out Racks Apart

Every storage manufacturer says modular. These are the specific decisions that show up in the field, taken from their own published specifications and brochures.

Cantilever

A single unit converts to double sided

Arms adjust up the upright in 3 inch steps, arms add and remove, columns add for longer material, and a single-sided unit converts to double-sided without scrapping any parts. If you are against a wall today and may not be next year, that is the difference between a reconfiguration and a new purchase.

Capacity

Length does not cost you capacity

On the cantilever line, rated capacity is set by arm depth and column count, not by how long the material is. They publish the identical load table for 12 foot stock and 60 foot stock. A 24 inch arm on four columns carries 20,000 lb per level either way, which is not how most people assume long-stock racking works.

Pallet

Two ways to retrofit a bay you already own

The rack-mounted shelf installs on existing uprights and beams with adjustable brackets, structural or roll-formed, without cutting or drilling. The floor-mounted cart touches the rack not at all, running on track anchored to the slab. Same product family, two different answers depending on load and on whether you want anything attached to your rack.

Density

The clearance you stop needing

Once the load comes out to the aisle, nobody has to reach into the bay, so the vertical clearance you were leaving for access is clearance you can take back. In a lot of buildings that is an extra level in the same bay height. These systems tend to pay for themselves in cube before they pay for themselves in labour.

Find Your Roll Out Racks Product

Seven products across three kinds of material. Every product has a Get Info & Pricing button that carries what you clicked straight into the form at the bottom, so you do not have to know a model number. Capacities are as published by the manufacturer; nearly everything is configurable beyond the standard ranges.

Pallets & Loads

Turns a pallet rack bay into a drawer. Both versions retrofit racking you already own, and both are about the same thing: getting the load out to the aisle instead of sending a person into the bay after it.

Roll out pallet shelf extended from a rack bay

Roll Out Pallet — Rack Mounted

1,000 – 2,000 lbs UDL
75% extension, no rack modification

Adjustable brackets mount to existing uprights and beams, structural or roll-formed. The lighter, faster retrofit.

Floor mounted roll out pallet cart rolled out from under a loaded bay

Roll Out Pallet — Floor Mounted

3,000 lbs UDL
85% extension, tracks anchored to slab

Runs under the bay on its own track and touches the rack not at all. The answer for heavier loads.

Sheet & Plate

Four different answers to the same problem: full sheets are heavy, awkward and impossible to pick from a stack without moving everything above them. Which one you want depends on whether you are storing full sheets, a changing mix, or remnants.

Roll out sheet rack with a loaded drawer extended

Roll Out Sheet Rack

5,000 lbs UDL per drawer
Up to 13 drawers in a 96 in. frame

Full-sheet drawer storage for fab shops and service centers. Rear loading, lock-in lock-out on every drawer. Seven models from 4 x 4 ft to 6 x 12 ft.

Universal sheet rack combining roll out drawers and fixed levels

Universal Sheet Rack

Up to 5,000 lbs UDL per drawer
Heights 8 to 16 ft

Mixes roll-out drawers and fixed levels in one modular frame. Bolted rails let levels move as your material mix changes. Drawers to 144 x 72 in.

Sheet tower with a vertical cartridge partly withdrawn

Sheet Tower

5,000 lbs per cartridge
Towers 8 to 18 ft

Vertical cartridges a forklift can pull and carry straight to the cutting table. Roughly doubles the storage of a comparable pallet or cantilever footprint. Cartridges 4 x 8 ft to 6 x 12 ft.

Vertical sheet rack with one drawer pulled out

Vertical Sheet Rack

1,500 lbs per drawer
Up to 15 drawers

Remnants, drops and partial sheets, each on its own vertical drawer. Compact enough to sit next to the machine. Eight models from 6 x 4 ft to 12 x 5 ft.

Bar, Tube & Long Stock

Long material is awkward to store and worse to pick. These two take opposite approaches: put the whole level on a drawer, or give every size its own slot.

Roll out cantilever rack with a level extended

Roll Out Cantilever

5,500 – 20,000 lbs per level
Single or double sided

Long stock on a drawer instead of an arm. Opens completely for crane and hoist access along the full length. Divider pins and steel trays keep mixed sizes apart.

Honeycomb rack with hexagonal slots holding bar and tube stock

Honeycomb Rack

Up to 7,000 lbs per slot
6, 8, 10 and 12 ft heights

A slot for every size of bar, tube, pipe, angle and rod. Pick by hand from the open face, load a bundle by crane. Unlimited length, mixed slot sizes in one rack.

Which One Fits What You Are Storing

If you are not sure which product this is, start here. The question is almost always what the material is and how it gets picked, not how much of it you have.

Plenty of shops end up with two of these. A honeycomb rack for pick stock next to a cantilever run for bundles is a common pairing, and so is a sheet rack for full sheets with a vertical rack beside the machine for what comes off them.

Why Our Customers Put These In

Floor spaceGoing vertical with material that is currently stacked or piled is the cheapest square footage most operations will ever buy.
SafetyNobody climbs a rack, reaches into a bay, or pulls a piece out of a pile. That is the argument that usually gets these approved.
SpeedOne person, one drawer, no forklift wait and no unstacking. The cantilever brochure puts the handling-time reduction at up to 80 percent.
Inventory accuracyWhen every size lives in a known place and you can see it from the aisle, counting stops being a project.
DensityRecovering the clearance you left for reaching into a bay often buys back a whole level in the same bay height.
They change with youLevels and drawers are modular and bolted, so the rack you buy this year can be reconfigured next year rather than replaced.

What We Need From You to Quote One

None of this has to be exact. A rough answer to each of these is enough to get a real number back, and if you only know two of the five, send those.

What the material isSheet, plate, bar, tube, pipe, palletized goods. Sizes and thicknesses if you have them.
How much of itWeight per piece and roughly how many pieces or sheets you need to hold.
The spaceCeiling height, floor area available, and aisle width. A photo of the area is worth more than a paragraph.
How it moves nowFork truck, overhead crane, hoist, vacuum lifter, or by hand. This decides the product more than anything else.
Existing rackingFor the pallet products, whether your rack is structural or roll-formed, and your beam and upright configuration.
Anything awkwardA low door, a floor drain, a column in the wrong place, a slab you are unsure about. Better raised now than at install.

Common Questions

Can I buy any of these online?

No, and we would not want you to. Every one of these is configured to your material, your weights and your building, so they are quoted rather than carted. Send us the details and we will get you a number.

What is the lead time?

These are built to order, so lead time moves with configuration and quantity. Give us a call and we will get you a current answer along with the quote.

Do you handle installation?

Talk to our team about it when you request the quote. We will go over installation, anchoring and what your slab needs to support the configuration you are looking at.

Can we start with one and add more later?

Yes, and the line is designed for it. Levels, drawers, arms and sections are modular and bolted. On the cantilever product a single-sided unit even converts to double-sided without wasting parts.

Will the pallet products fit the racking we already have?

The rack-mounted version uses adjustable brackets and installs on both structural and roll-formed rack. The floor-mounted version runs on its own track and does not need to fit anything. Send photos of your uprights and beam configuration and we will confirm before you order.

We are not in the Midwest. Can you still help?

Yes. B&C ships nationwide. Our outside reps cover northeast Indiana, western Ohio and southern Michigan in person, but our customers are all over the country.
