The Southworth Powered Dandy Lift raises and lowers at the push of a button. A high-speed linear actuator replaces the hydraulics, so there is no oil to leak and no drift – which is why these end up in electronics assembly, test stations, stock rooms and offices as often as on a plant floor.
Five models: PLM-100 and PLM-100W at 220 lbs with 38 inches of travel to a 51-inch raised height, PLM-150 and PLM-150W at 330 lbs, and the PLM-250 at 500 lbs with a tethered remote control as standard.

How to Choose the Right Battery Lift Cart
Capacity first: 220 lbs (PLM-100), 330 lbs (PLM-150) or 500 lbs (PLM-250). The W models are the wide-platform versions at 24″ x 36″ instead of 20″ x 31.5″.
Then look at travel, because it is not proportional to capacity. The PLM-100 gives 38 inches of travel to a 51-inch raised height; the PLM-150 and PLM-250 give roughly 18 inches to about 33 inches. If reach matters more than load, the lighter model is the right one.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Powered Dandy hydraulic?
No. It uses a linear actuator, so there is no hydraulic oil and no drift under load.
Which model lifts highest?
The PLM-100 and PLM-100W, at a 51-inch raised height with 38 inches of vertical travel.
How is it controlled?
Push-button controls on the unit. The PLM-250 comes with a tethered remote control as standard.
Does it have a battery gauge?
Yes on every model except the PLM-250, which uses an audible battery discharge alarm instead.

- 330 to 1760 lbs capacity
- 23.6" x 39.4" max platform
- 49.8" raised height (A-350W)
The Southworth Manual Dandy Lift is a portable foot-pump scissor lift cart. Five models run from the 330 lb L-150 up to the 1760 lb A-800, and the high-lift A-350W reaches 49.8 inches.
The Dandy's design is built around the operator: a 180-degree access foot pedal that can be pumped from the side or the back, an oversized lowering handle reachable from any position, and contoured comfort grips. An integrated floor lock holds the cart in place while you work.

- Integrated floor lock
- Hydraulic jack rated for roughly 400,000 strokes
Common Applications
- Factories, stores and warehouses
- Repair shops and garages
- Nurseries and greenhouses
- Stacking and unstacking
- Adjustable-height work surface
How to Choose the Right Portable Scissor Lift Cart
L-150 and L-250 are the light-duty models for totes and small parts. A-500 and A-800 are the medium and heavy-duty models with the wider 23.6-inch platform.
The A-350W is the one to notice: 770 lbs but 36.2 inches of travel to a 49.8-inch raised height. If your operator needs to load something tall, that extra travel is worth more than raw capacity. If loads change as you stack, ask about the self-leveling Dandy Leveler instead.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a Manual Dandy Lift hold?
330 lbs on the L-150 up to 1760 lbs on the A-800.
Which Dandy lifts highest?
The A-350W, at a 49.8-inch raised height with 36.2 inches of vertical travel.
Does it need power?
No. The Manual Dandy runs entirely on a foot pump. Southworth also makes the Powered Dandy if you want push-button operation.

Yes. The pedal has 180-degree access, so it can be pumped from either side or from behind the unit.
Buying a portable scissor lift cart from B&C Industrial Products
B&C Industrial Products is a material handling distributor in Garrett, Indiana, serving customers nationwide. We stock and quote lift tables, lift carts, positioners, casters, pallet racking and cranes. Every Southworth model on this page is quoted to your configuration, so tell us the load, the platform size and the working height you need and we will spec it.
The Vestil Lift and Tilt Cart with Sequence Select raises a load and then tilts it toward the operator, so parts in a bin or on a pallet come to the worker instead of the worker bending into the bin. A selector lets the operator choose whether the foot pump lifts or tilts, on the same pedal.
Quoted as one configuration: 1000 lb capacity, 35.5" x 19.5" platform, 45 degree tilt, 15" lowered to 32" raised.
Key Features
- Sequence select: one foot pedal lifts, then tilts, without changing pedals
- 45 degree tilt brings the load to the operator
- Two rigid and two swivel polyurethane casters with floor lock
- Steel platform with a formed lip on the low side to hold containers
Common Applications
- Feeding parts from bins and gaylords at a workstation
- Assembly cells where the operator reaches into a container all shift
- Kitting and order picking
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the platform lift without tilting?
Yes. The sequence selector lets the operator lift only, or lift and then tilt.
Does it need power?
No. Lift and tilt are both foot-pump hydraulic.
